Iupgraded
to my best digital camera ever in October 2006. It's a Fujifilm Finepix S9000
which I researched very carefully before finally buying at BuyDig.com. It had
just come out in January and had been one of 3 superzoom EVFs featured in an
article in Popular Photography magazine. This camera is designed for people like
me who are ready to move up from the standard point-and-shoot model but aren't
quite ready for an SLR. This is my third digital camera, so I thought it would
be a perfect upgrade and it was. It's enormous, tho. Much bigger than those
tiny-and-getting-tinier-by-the-year digicams people are buying to replace their
old film cameras. (Speaking of which, I recently ran across what must have been
my last roll of actual film! Got it developed and found photos of my grandma
taken during the last year of her life, so that means it was around 2001 when I
made the switch to digital.)
I didn't have a camera bag for the new one so I "repurposed" (love that word :-)
my husband's 6-pack cooler bag. The plastic insert from the box my camera was
shipped in fit perfectly. Best of all, it doesn't look like a camera bag so I'm
not afraid to leave it unattended (briefly) in the car.
I haven't learned all the ins and outs of getting great pictures yet, but I'm
working on it! I'll be filling in the space below with links to each photo
gallery as it's created. Meanwhile, here are a few cute ones I snapped of our
black shepherd, Sabrina, in the snow:
